Numidia Application · Last updated: October 17, 2026

1. Who We Are

The mobile application Numidia is published by Majd Alhalah, individual publisher.

For any questions regarding your personal data or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@numidia.app.

2. Using Numidia Without an Account

Creating an account is not required. You can explore categories, listen to audio pronunciations, and play learning mini-games without signing up. In this mode, no directly identifying personal data is linked to you, and your learning progress is not synced to our cloud servers.

An account is only required for two specific functions: syncing and persisting your learning progress and streak across devices, and subscribing to Numidia Premium.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 If You Create an Account

Data Purpose Legal Basis
Email address and password Account creation and authentication. Passwords are cryptographically hashed; we cannot read them. Contract performance
Username Display identity in the application. Contract performance
Preferred language Display translations and notifications in your preferred language. Contract performance
Notification preferences Respect your choice to receive learning reminders. Consent

Service emails. We only email you when your account needs it: a 6-digit verification code when you sign up, a password reset code, and confirmation of an email address change. These codes expire after one hour. These messages are delivered by Mailjet and, as a fallback, by Resend.

News and offers emails (optional). Only if you agree, by ticking the box when you sign up or in your profile (Notifications), we email you about new units, stories and Numidia Premium offers. The box is never pre-ticked. You can withdraw your consent at any time from your profile or with the unsubscribe link in every email. Legal basis: your consent. We keep the date you agreed and withdrew, to be able to prove your choice. These emails are sent by Mailjet.

3.2 Learning Progress

For each vocabulary word or phrase you study, we store review counts, correct answer rates, the last review timestamp, and mastery level. We also store your active streak count and all-time record.

This data is used solely to schedule future review intervals and display your personal progress. It is never sold or used for behavioral advertising profiling.

3.3 Technical Diagnostics & Crash Reporting (Sentry)

To maintain app stability and diagnose crashes rapidly, we use Sentry. When an unexpected application error occurs, a technical report is automatically generated.

This report includes strictly technical telemetry: device model, operating system version, application build version, system locale, and error stack traces. It contains no learning data or passwords.

3.4 Aggregated Usage Statistics (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to measure aggregated, pseudonymized app engagement (screens viewed, session duration, general retention). A pseudonymous app-instance identifier is used, with no linkage to your civil identity.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, these statistics are collected only if you consent in the consent form (purposes "store information on a device" and "measure content performance"). If you decline, or later withdraw consent via Account → Ad preferences, collection is turned off.

3.5 Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging & Expo)

If you opt in to notifications, we store a technical device push token (FCM / Expo) to deliver learning reminders. This token does not disclose your physical location or grant access to personal files.

Daily streak reminders can also be scheduled locally on your device without server transmission.

3.6 Numidia Premium Subscriptions (RevenueCat)

All subscription transactions are processed directly by Google Play or Apple App Store. We never receive or store your credit card or financial payment details.

We use RevenueCat to manage entitlement verification (active vs. expired status) using an anonymous, pseudonymous app user identifier.

3.7 Advertising & Tracking Transparency (Google AdMob & Apple ATT)

The free tier displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

GDPR / UMP Consent: For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland, a certified consent dialog is shown upon initial launch. You may modify or withdraw consent at any time via Account → Ad preferences.

Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS devices, you will see a native prompt asking whether you permit tracking for personalized ads via the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). You are entirely free to accept or decline. You can also adjust this setting anytime via: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Numidia.

If you decline tracking or personalization, ads will still be displayed, but they will be contextual rather than personalized. Numidia Premium subscribers see zero advertisements.

3.8 Pronunciation Exercise (Microphone)

The pronunciation exercise (included in Numidia Premium, or temporarily available with the daily discovery pass) lets you record yourself saying a Kabyle word or phrase and get a score and tips. The microphone is only used when you tap the record button, after you have granted the permission requested by your phone. Recording stops automatically after a few seconds.

The recording is sent, encrypted, to our speech analysis server hosted by Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium). It is converted to text, compared with the expected word, and then deleted immediately after the analysis: we keep no recording of your voice, we do not listen to it, and we do not use it to train any artificial intelligence model. Only the result (passed or not) is added to your progress, as with the other mini-games.

Legal basis: contract performance (you ask us to analyze your pronunciation). You can revoke microphone access at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the app keeps working normally.

You can exercise these controls directly in the app: update your username, email, and preferred language in your profile, toggle notifications, manage ad consent, or permanently delete your account.

For any specialized request, contact us at contact@numidia.app. European users also possess the right to file a complaint with their competent data protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy

Numidia is a general audience educational app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent. If you believe such data has been submitted, contact us and we will promptly remove it.
